Scroll down for photos and a description of the walk....

Pendle Hill

Pendle Hill

It doesn't usually take until the tenth day of the month for me to find something to write home about, but the previous nine days of February have not been very good for the fairweather walker. Familiar territory.

Paraglider

Paraglider

This paraglider is coming in to land. It's not uncommon for these chaps to launch off the top of Pendle Hill and enjoy the best seat in the house for however long it takes.

Landslip

Landslip

This is new! Probably as a result of last week's sixty hour rain event, lasting from Friday morning pretty much until Sunday afternoon.

Black Moss

Shadowlands

Folk living in the "east" may not be having as good a day as us "westerners", it looks a little overcast overthere.

Pen-y-ghent

Flooded fields in the foreground.

Pendle Trig

Pendle Summit

Looking north, it's 16:20 and the extending days are most welcome. Viewers may notice the un-edited image has a little blur in the top left. There seems to be a foreign object inside the lens. This camera has taken over 8,500 photos, I'm wondering if it's time to put my hand in my pocket. I prefer the "pocket" camera to the bulkier ones. I'm a walker with a camera, not a photographer going for a walk.

Black Moss

Black Moss Reservoirs

Foulridge Reservoirs are a little further away.

Blacko Tower

Blacko Tower

The shallow pits on the hillsides are probably mini-quarries from which wall stone has been sourced. The settlement behind the tower is Foulridge, pronounced "Full-ridge", behind that on the hillside is Noyna Rocks. Shown in reverse on April 21st 2010...

I think that the landslip occured below the fence and the narrow channel (left) fell into the void.
